HISTORY
The origins of Car Fibreglass date back to the mid 70’s, when Franco Barboni founded a body shop for building and repairing vans. After a few years of experiance in the construction of campers, the company specialized in producing fiberglass products to be used on cars and ambulances. Thanks to Franco Barboni’s enterprising spirit, the current management started working together between 1992 and 1994, when the company decided to introduce the production of designed equipment aimed to improve the professional use of commercial vehicles. Due to the strong growth in this field during the 90’s, Car Fibreglass concentrated its work on this range of vehicles, developing the first “COVER” models; “COVER” is an internal lining which makes the load compartment perfectly waterproof, washable and resisitant to disinfection. The application of European regulations such as HACCP concerning food management, the first European guide lines regarding medicines transportation (94 / C63 / 03), together with the implementation of a Quality Management System according to ISO9001 standard, created the foundation for the success of “COVER” which increased the sales within Italy of a few dozen of pieces in 2000 up to over 2500 pieces sold in almost 30 countries in 2019.

Car Fibreglass does follow the whole production process internally, starting from the design to the model realisation, from the mould creation to the production, from the product installation on the vehicle up to the validation tests.
For the new production lines, built starting from 2017, the company pays particular attention to:
- The environmental aspects, the implementation and update of a management system designed to improve the environmental impact of its own production process and relevant products, trying to optimise the use of energy;
- The Risks Assessmnet update so to guarantee a safe workplace. Infrastructure and protection devices creation, necessary to minimize the risk of accidents and to analyse the potential ones in order to avoid their recurrence.
Considering the growing competitiveness of the market and the request for more innovative and reliable products, the quality becomes a requirement that can be achieved through the understanding of the client needs and the empowerment of all personnel.
